Anodizing supervisor- metals manufacturing

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Lead is responsible for maintaining the anodizing process and wastewater treatment system in such a manner that these processes do not place any limitations on the safe and efficient manufacturing of a quality product. This position schedules and oversees a range of activities performed by your team of lab technicians and wastewater treatment operators , production associates, as well as maintenance staff and contractors. Education/Experience o A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role preferred o Successful completion of a post-secondary program (degree or diploma) recommended o Minimum 1 year Anodizing or other metal finishing experience o Knowledge of chemistry o Computer literacy required (intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office) Technical Skills/Competence o Organized to allow for the balancing of multiple tasks simultaneously o An excellent communicator both written and orally to generate buy-in to ideas and concepts o Fair and consistent in your approach to dealing with people o Willingness to learn o Goal oriented o Accountable to commitments, both internal and external o Strong knowledge of production processes and company systems o Mechanical aptitude o Able to work flexible hours o Maintaining a safe and enjoyable workplace for all process employees via such measures as enforcement of proper PPE policy, maintenance of housekeeping standards, inventory of proper equipment, tools, etc. o Ensure effluent is compliant with the Camden County sewer and discharge regulations as determined by routine sampling and analysis. o Ensure that all process baths are operating within their control ranges. o Conduct daily audits to monitor adherence to anodizing, chemical testing and wastewater treatment procedures and perform appropriate testing if required. o Collect, record, analyze and communicate relevant and reliable process data. o Troubleshoot quality defects and assist in problem solving to maintain the highest level of quality. o Maintain appropriate chemical inventories. o Maintain inventory of other consumable items (filter press cloths, filters, etc.). o Working with the Facility and Production Supervisors/Plant Manager, schedule all maintenance activities within your department. o Training, coaching, developing, collaborating with, engaging and mentoring your team. o Diligently recognize continuous improvement opportunities. o Regularly audit all current processes and recommend revisions or the development of new processes to the Plant Manager. o Maintain appropriate team staffing levels to ensure the safe and efficient execution of daily duties. o Working with your Manager, conduct objective performance evaluations for your team based on the achievement of predetermined goals. o Maintain open lines of communication with your team, other departments, other supervisors and your manager(s). o Verifying and approving payroll hours for your team. o Responsible for the investigation of Health and Safety related incidents involving your crew and as required, providing support to other facility incident investigations. o Provide coverage for Production Supervisors as required Recommended Skills Anodizing Chemical Process Leadership Manufacturing Problem Solving Quality Assurance Apply to this job.
